Little Joe Pye Weed

Eupatorium dubium

Dwarf species of Joe Pye, native in moist soils from Maine south to South Carolina. In appearance, E. dubium is similar to E. purpureum, but more tolerant of light shade. All Joe Pye species are great choices for moist sites, rain gardens and water's edge.  This shorter selection is easier to incorporate in plantings than its taller native version.
