Fox Sedge

Carex vulpinoidea

Fox Sedge grows on moist, open ground in swamps, wet prairies or near water. Fox Sedge is one of the most abundant sedges in the Midwest. Narrow grass-like leaf blades grow in round clumps. Seedheads spray out attractively from the center of the clump, and resemble a fox's tail.

Attractive, symmetrical sedge
