Royal Catchfly

Silene regia 'Royal Catchfly'

Sticky calyx can trap or "catch" small insects, hence the name Royal Catchfly.  Royal Catchfly prefers sandy, gravelley soils, and adequate drainage.  Beautiful scarlet red blooms in July attract hummingbirds. This is a great native wildflower for rockgardens.
